Arrowtown is an old gold rush town with plenty of history and character. The museum is well worth a visit.
Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland National Park's pristine rainforest and the un-missable trips to Milford and Doubtful Sounds. Don’t be put off by poor weather as these trips are incredible in any circumstances and in the rain you see the rainforest at its best with water pouring in sheets off sheer cliffs. You’ll often also see some of the region’s unique dolphins and seals.
Wanaka is home to the region’s most popular event - the Warbirds over Wanaka air show - and is also the location of one of the favourite family attractions, Puzzling World. It’s a very scenic day trip from Queenstown.
